We focus on helping children aged 5-18 build a strong foundation in emotional regulation, stress management, and organizational skills. Through our interactive and engaging 30 minute virtual weekly sessions, we empower kids to understand and articulate their emotions, set realistic goals, and foster positive relationships.
Our sessions are designed to be more than just lessons—they are journeys of self-discovery. We use a combination of mindfulness practices, creative activities, and practical strategies to ensure that each child feels heard, understood, and supported. Whether they are learning to manage anxiety, improve their focus, or simply express their feelings more clearly, our tailored approach meets each child where they are and helps them grow into the best version of themselves.
About Matthew Porter
Matt is the passionate and dedicated founder of The Mindful Me, bringing a unique blend of experience as a school counselor, art teacher, and mental health professional to his work with children and teens. With a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and certifications in both teaching and school counseling, Matt has spent 20 years helping young people navigate the challenges of growing up. His approach is rooted in empathy, creativity, and a deep understanding of the emotional and developmental needs of children aged 5-18.
At The Mindful Me, Matt combines his expertise in emotional regulation, stress management, and organizational skills with his love for the arts to create engaging and supportive sessions. His goal is to empower every child to understand their emotions, manage their stress, and develop the skills they need to thrive. Whether working with younger kids or guiding teens through more complex challenges, Matt is committed to creating a safe, nurturing space where every child can grow into the best version of themselves.
About Jessica Porter
With almost two decades of experience in education, Jess is a passionate educator and leader who brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to The Mindful Me. Holding a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Jessica has excelled as a Curriculum Math and Reading Coach and an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Specialist, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed.
At The Mindful Me, Jess collaborates with Matt as a content creator, crafting engaging and meaningful resources that empower children and teens. Driven by a deep love for youth, education, and a commitment to fostering growth, Jessica is dedicated to helping every young person discover their potential and thrive both in and out of the classroom.
